Victoria Hernandez joined Friends of the Children in January 2023 as the Institutional Giving Manager.
Victoria is a Bay Area native— born and raised. As a first generation Mexican-Guatemalan American, she is deeply connected to her heritage and supporting the LatinX community.
Victoria graduated from Vanguard University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology. She also obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Studies with a focus in international law and human rights from the University of San Francisco. She is currently pursuing her certification in non-profit management at California State University East Bay.
She lived in India for a semester as an undergraduate student to conduct a comparative study on Hinduism practiced in the U.S. and India. Further, she tutored and mentored victims of human trafficking at an orphanage in Chennai (Madras). During her graduate studies, she spent time in Ghana producing a qualitative case study on international and domestic laws pertaining to domestic violence against women. As well as assisting victims of domestic violence through the legal system with a local human rights organization.
She has over eight years of legal administrative experience under her belt in several different fields of law including criminal, immigration, worker’s compensation, real estate and personal injury.
Outside of work, she loves to travel, try local foods, bake dog treats for her dogs and spend time with her family.
