Jesus Pizano

Professional Mentor

Jesus joined Friends of the Children-SF Bay Area as a Professional Mentor in March 2026. Originally from the Salinas Valley, he navigated obstacles often present in rural cities, including inaccessibility to educational and creative opportunities. Through a college readiness program, Jesus was able to explore educational goals and attend UC Davis with a social justice scholarship where he earned a BS in Human Development with minors in Public Health and Global Disease Biology.

While in school, Jesus became interested in Public Health, and the role that socioeconomic factors and environment have in shaping a person's upbringing. It has become a passion to continue learning from diverse populations and apply his knowledge toward empowering youth--having worked as a Research Assistant, English-Learning Tutor/High School Mentor, Caregiver at an Early Childhood Lab School, and more recently a substitute paraprofessional. Jesus is committed to serving as a bridge between youth and resources they need to achieve their goals.

Being new to San Francisco, Jesus enjoys going on long walks/runs, exploring different places, creating, and studying different forms of art, and spending time with friends and family.
