Abigail Tobin

Professional Mentor

Abigail joined Friends of the Children–SF Bay Area in 2025 as a Professional Mentor. Originally from Philadelphia, she was deeply influenced by her upbringing in Quaker schools, where she developed a strong commitment to community, equity, and reflective practice. These values continue to guide her work today.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College. While in school, Abigail worked as a substitute teacher, organized scholarship fundraisers, and mentored youth: early experiences that helped her discover a calling in service and education. Most recently, she served as an AmeriCorps member in San Francisco, where she coordinated a school-based mentoring program and launched a free community closet to provide students and families with essential items like clothing, school supplies, and hygiene products.

In her free time, Abigail enjoys lifting, cooking for others, spending time outdoors, and learning to invest.
