BOARD: In Memory of Rev. Cecil Williams

Mayor Breed called Reverend Cecil Williams “the conscience of our San Francisco community.” For over 60 years, as Co-Founder and Minister of Liberation at GLIDE, Cecil preached unconditional love and radical inclusivity, fiercely championing the rights of all people regardless of race, economic status, gender or sexual orientation.

As a Founding Board Member of Friends of the Children-SF Bay Area, Cecil inspired us to walk tirelessly beside the San Francisco youth who face the biggest barriers, and his support has opened countless doors for us.

Cecil’s vision and passion changed our organization, our city and our world for the better. We will miss him!
