Jahlan Loche joined the Friends of the Children team as a Professional Mentor in January 2024. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and received her BA in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, San Marcos. She enjoys staying active by going on fun hikes, catching up with friends, and hysterically laughing at terrible "dad jokes".
Jahlan has worked in many youth-oriented roles from Summer Camp Leader to After school Program Teacher to Instructional Aid in a special needs class. Her experience working in the classroom led to the understanding of how important mentorship relationships can be for students. Jahlan strongly believes that all kids have the capability to reach their full potential if given the right resources and support from positive role models.
